Tagged: Ten Facts About Me

Mon Jan 18, 2010, 8:45 AM
Sooo... :icondreaminglagoon: tagged me (boo, you whore! - kidding XD...), heres how it works:

The Rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
4. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
5. No tag-backs.

1. I'm only about 5ft2... and I'm 21, so unless I manage to grow taller with the aid of either a) horrible surgery on my legs (ew!), b) MIRACLE GROW! or c) stilts, that is unlikely to change.

2. I've been an insomniac since I was a kid, I envy those people who can just feel tired, close their eyes then they're asleep... sometimes it's worse than others, at it's best I manage to go to sleep at a normal time then a weird internal alarm clock will wake me up at 1am, 3am, 4am or if I'm lucky about 6 or 7... at it's worst, I pull all nighters and go by on as little as 8 hours sleep a week.

3. I write. I get A LOT of story ideas... my idea graveyard (read: folder of idea documents and outlines) has about 150 novel outlines in it right now. I'm good at coming up with ideas, not so great at the execution of them and staying focussed long enough to finish.

4. I am a complete music whore - seriously, I like something from every genre (although I tend to lean more towards indie/rock/punk type music most of the time) and for a lot of people that know me I'm the one that will pester them with bands I love and get them into it. It makes me weirdly happy seeing someone I got into a band or artist then pimp them out to other people or put the songs on their profiles and things.

5. I don't cry in front of people... in the very, very, very, very rare occassions that I do (I'm talking maybe three times in 10 years), it's been because of physical pain, not emotional. Since my dad died I don't let other people know how much things affect me emotionally (one exception was when my dog died and I managed to go 20 minutes in front of people without crying, fighting the urge the whole time but I couldn't stop it any longer and ended up crying in front of my sister when we were walking to her house).

6. I'm argumentative... well, it's not so much insulting people and picking fights for the hell of it, I adore well thought out debates and I end up posting these huge discussions with people on forums or on MSN (my favourite topics: pro-life vs. pro-choice, religion, gay marriage, books, movies--Twilight series in particular-- among other things). I generally believe that opinions are neither right or wrong and everyone is entitled to their own, I hate arguing with people who can't back up their arguments or have crappy reasoning. I don't set out to change peoples opinions, I just like to get them to see the other side of things, because I try to do that and generally I'm quite good at it - even things I don't agree with, I can usually see the other side.

7. I don't have a favourite colour. I'm terrible at limiting myself to a favourite anything because what I'd choose as my favourite is entirely dependant on my mood and can change on an hourly basis even... I can list things I love and create ever expanding lists of favourite things, but ask me to choose just one then I'll fail.

8. I'm clumsy... but it's not because of lack of balance, I used to do gymnastics when I was younger and was pretty good at it, so clearly it's not balance issues. I just walk around with my head in the clouds, daydreaming, thinking of story ideas, losing myself in music I'm listening to... that kind of thing. It's cause by lack of concentration and in the past I've flipped heels over head off a bike and a scooter and crashed into a tree on a bike, I've tripped over a table (like, an actual coffee table - my legs were badly cut and bruised from that one), tripped in car parks...

9. For lack of a better fact: I turn light switches on and off with my nose more often than my hands... sometimes I forget that this is not normal. Started out as something I'd do when my hands were full, morphed into a full blown habit. =P

10. I'm a complete nerd in a lot of ways - one of them, is books. I love to read. I have a book review blog and my room is filled with book piles. I realised not long ago that it's been my subconcious mission to make people read books I love - I mean, I pimp them out at every given oppertunity, I buy books for people, I host contests on my review blog with books as prizes... I should actually be reading a book right now, one that I got for review. o.O

Fact 11... even though there shouldn't be one, I feel the need to add this to point out the obvious - I like to ramble. A lot. Like, most peoples lists of facts are ten sentences, one per fact, I do ten paragraphs. O.o

I tag everyone that reads this - you. Yes, YOU! Go write ten facts please?

A swirling mass of hatred and envy
And do not be naïve enough to think you are unaffected,
The conversion has already begun."
